Follow Me Friday is a book meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.
#FF is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort
between bloggers. In order to join in the fun, all you need is well . .
. A book blog :)
The question this week is:
Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?
My answer:
Yes and yes. If I'm happy, I usually try to read a light book with lots of love in it and no (or very little) tragic moments. And when I'm depressed, I don't feel like reading at all. That's the worst case scenario, tbh. So, I try to shun the depression away and read whatever would cheer me up. Sometimes I end up reading heavy books when I'm happy, but that's totally random.
Also, I want to remind you about the giveaway of "Pledged" that's going on at the moment. Please visit The Giveaways Page for more information and the Rafflecopter.
I think there aren't many depressed people who read a lot. When I'm sad I read less, but reading is a big part of the cheering up!

If I'm in foul mood I prefer to read YA contemporary. They're usually funny and light. But sometimes I don't feel like reading at all :(

Fantastic answer! I agree with you that on depressing days, it really is trying to just find some escape in a good read (hopefully a giggly read would be nice, haha!) though when I'm happy, I'd be more willing to try depressing books o_o
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Every once in a while I'm not in the mood to read at all. I kind-of like reading emotional books, though. I read a little of everything.

Same here! My problem is, though, that when I'm trying too hard to find a book that will cheer me up I slide directly into a reading slump and nothing works anymore :/

When I find myself in a not-so-good mood, reading takes my mind off of things. I love escaping into a book for a while.
ReplyDeleteOld follower. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for following me! I think everybody gets in slumps every now-and-then. Sometimes I'm in such a fickle mood I can't even decide which book to start next! ha.
