Follow Friday #26

Photobucket

Follow Me Friday is a book meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. #FF is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. In order to join in the fun, all you need is well . . . A book blog :)

The question this week is:

Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

My answer:

Yes and yes. If I'm happy, I usually try to read a light book with lots of love in it and no (or very little) tragic moments. And when I'm depressed, I don't feel like reading at all. That's the worst case scenario, tbh. So, I try to shun the depression away and read whatever would cheer me up. Sometimes I end up reading heavy books when I'm happy, but that's totally random.

Please leave links to your FF's, so I can stop by!! Oh, and if you're a new follower, let me know so I could return the favor!

Also, I want to remind you about the giveaway of "Pledged" that's going on at the moment. Please visit The Giveaways Page for more information and the Rafflecopter.

  1. I think there aren't many depressed people who read a lot. When I'm sad I read less, but reading is a big part of the cheering up!

    1. If I'm in foul mood I prefer to read YA contemporary. They're usually funny and light. But sometimes I don't feel like reading at all :(

  10. I read like crazy when I'm depressed. It is a total escape. That's if I'm not sleeping, of course - my other solution to depression. Happy to see you again, Vanya. And stop by at my blog and enter my Justice giveaway. You will love it. :)

  11. Fantastic answer! I agree with you that on depressing days, it really is trying to just find some escape in a good read (hopefully a giggly read would be nice, haha!) though when I'm happy, I'd be more willing to try depressing books o_o

    Have a great weekend!

  18. Same here! My problem is, though, that when I'm trying too hard to find a book that will cheer me up I slide directly into a reading slump and nothing works anymore :/
