Follow Friday #14

Photobucket

Follow Me Friday is a book meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. #FF is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. In order to join in the fun, all you need is well . . . A book blog :)

The question this week is:

Have you ever had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" later on, in either the series or stand-alone book. Tell us about him or her.

My answer:

Hmm.. well this is a hard one. I even had to look thru my Goodreads book list! But alas, I couldn't find a book with such a character. Well, there is one who kind of disappointed me, but I don't really hate him. I love him even though he screwed up. So no way am I gonna break it off with him. 'Cuz I'm talking about Will Herondale from Cassie Clare's The Infernal Devices. Now, I know that you'd think me crazy. But hey, didn't he disappoint you when he was just a little bit late in his confession to Tessa? Didn't he disappoint you when he assumed that hey, he'd just ask James to give her up like she was a toy to be thrown around? He sure disappointed me. So yeah, that's my answer :)

What is yours?

Please leave links to your FF's, so I can stop by!!

  1. I don't recall Will asking Jem to give her up. I thought that Will confessed to her his feelings, then Tessa revealed that she was with Jem, which Will didn't know about. Then Will let her be with Jem. That sent him up in my books and now it is 2 books into the trilogy and I still can't pick which one I prefer. Oh well, glad you still like him anyway :D I love Cassandra Clare!

Thank you for visiting my My FF and I'm following you back :)

    1. No, Will didn't ask Jem, but he was thinking he would, and that Jem would just give her up because Will was more worthy or whatever. Will even went up to Jem's room to ask him to forget about Tessa. It was only after Jem confessed his love for her that Will decided he wouldn't interfere.
I do love him, but that was sort of disappointing *shrug*

  2. I can't wait to read The Infernal Devices... From what you're saying, he doesn't sound like a very good character, but i guess everyone has to have his flaws, right?

    1. Oh, no Ella. Will's a great character. Just his timing was bad, and he was a bit selfish at times. But otherwise he's smart, gorgeous and tortured. And he's a bad boy :)

  7. Haven't read that series either but have heard of it. But I think we can all say that we have a character who has let us down! That is the theme after all! It's kind of a depressing one too at that for Friday!

    Returning the following favor.

I haven't read Inferno devices I need to as they are on my bookshelf. I still need to read the last of Mortal Instruments as well and with the new book coming out I might wanna get to that sooner rather then later. .Thank you for sharing.

  10. I love The Infernal Devices! While I do love Jem, I was sad that Will didn't make it back in time. I think I was more disappointed in Tessa that she would say yes to Jem even though she loves Will. It's not quite fair to Jem if she can't give him her whole heart. But Will and Tessa seem to be destined for each other, so it'll be interesting to see how/if that happens. I just hope Jem doesn't die!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Following you back :-)

    1. Well, I have the feeling that Tessa loves them both. So, honestly it wouldn't be fair to either one of she ends up with the other...
