Follow Me Friday is a book meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. #FF is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort
between bloggers. In order to join in the fun, all you need is well . . . A book blog :)

And this week's question is (drum roll):

Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest in the Alpha Male?

Well, for me to be interested in a book, it must have the following several things:
1. Intriguing story line that captures the imagination and makes me feel like I'm living in the story world;
2. Witty conversations that stir my brain and make me think about what I just read;
3. Noticeable character growth not only in the face of the leading hero/heroine;
4. Amiable hero/heroine though not necessarily strong or kick ass. Tessa from TID and Clary from TMI both grew into their characters, but weren't kick ass from the beginning.
5. Delicious romance that raises butterflies in my stomach.

How about you? What do you like about your favorite books???

  1. Oh, those are all definitely necessities in a good book. I totally agree with you on those. Thank you for visiting my blog earlier. I'm following you back. =D

  8. Great answer! I completely agree with you! I like seeing the growth of a heroine, especially if they don't start off kickass but grow into it!
    *Old Follower* Thanks for stopping by!

  9. I agree with your answer. I would say, for me, the novel needs to have interesting characters, a good story, and I also like detail in the description. I love reading all that trivial stuff to do with the setting, or what the characters are doing :)

  10. Great great answer! I need all of that in a book, or else I can't stay concentrated that long! New follower!

  11. oooo wonderful list!!! i love Tessa and Clary!!!! they really do grown throughout their books, Esp Tessa thanks for stopping by mine!!!
    New Follower!!!!

  12. Character growth is definitely so important!

    Thanks for stopping by and following my blog, I followed back!

  13. Witty convo with a dash of snarkness will keep me glued to the book. Followed back. :D

  14. Witty conversations are a must. Good dialogue can make or break a story. I think that is almost more important than a strong plot. Strong and witty characters. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the follow. Following back!

  15. Thanks for visiting!

    I agree with all five of your points. I love it when I read a conversation that is so funny I read it again and again; and it often leads to realising something you missed the first time. Romance is also important- if you're going to do it, do it right!

    Just a note as well: the text on this page appeared as lots of ?s in boxes and capital รง.
